Madison Anti-Racism Event with Anita Garcia Morales
Mar 31 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Madison students, parents, caregivers and educators are invited to join the Madison PTSA Racial Equity Team for “Our History: A Different Perspective,” with Anita Garcia Morales, Co-founder of Racing to Equity, via Zoom. We are also welcoming families of feeder schools in the region.

Participants will:

  • Gain a historical understanding of the intentional construction of racism and classism and its present-day impact
  • Explore personal connections and how vestiges of the ‘history’ you learned manifest and impact your personal (and professional life)
  • Deepen knowledge about the four kinds of racism and what is within your sphere of influence to change
  • Cross-pollinate ideas and develop intentional practices to thrive as citizens centered on racial equity

There will be time for individual, small group and whole group participation. This interactive learning is geared toward middle school ages and up. After this session, you will more fully understand the roots of the institutional and structural racism and classism at all levels of our society.

Register now so we can send you the Zoom link before the meeting. We look forward to having you join us!
