Funding Our Future: Fiscal Stabilization Plan

Seattle Public Schools (SPS) is facing a significant projected budget deficit. On Wednesday, May 3, the Seattle School Board will the next budget work session.

The district will present a portfolio of proposed actions to balance the 2023-24 operating budget. This portfolio of proposed actions, called the Fiscal Stabilization Plan, will include reductions to district operations and educational programs.

The May 3 Board Work Session will be live streamed on SPSTV and broadcast on television on Comcast 26 (standard-def) and 319 (hi-def), Wave 26 (standard-def) and 695 (hi-def), and Century Link 8008 (standard-def) and 8508 (hi-def).

The Seattle School Board has received updates through work session meetings this spring. The board is required to pass a balanced budget and scheduled to vote on the 2023-24 budget on Thursday, July 6, 2023.
