WELCOME TO MADISON

Dear Madison Community,

Greetings, and Welcome to Madison Middle School!

It’s back to school time! I AM EXCITED to see what this new school year will hold. As a teacher at Lafayette Elementary, WITH a 6th and 8th grader at Madison Middle School, and an 11th grader at WSHS—I’m eager for the return to school! I love observing my children’s academic and social growth.

Middle school is a special time in the life of a child. As parents, we have the chance to observe and remember all the awkward FUN that is unique to middle school!  I love being a part of the Madison Middle School PTSA! We actively support families furthest from educational and social justice.

Throughout the 2021-2022 school year we enhanced curriculum and dialogue around racial equity and anti-racism, as well as greater diversity in instructional approaches. As a community we were also able to raise vital funds to provide Madison educators with a budget of $200 per teacher for classroom supplies. Additionally, we allocated over $18,000 in PTSA Grants to fund new history textbooks, Flocabulary, expand Bulldog Book Clubs, and much more! Madison PTSA is vital to building a well-rounded schooling experience. Your continued support is necessary!

The PTSA holds three General Meetings per year, coordinates with our counseling department, the Racial Equity Team, and Madison Staff to bring parent and family education opportunities and events to you.  Our first General Meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 27th 7:00-8:00 pm via Zoom. We will have elections for Board positions! Mark your calendars!! Find out more information about our General Meetings, as well as our upcoming parent programs, by signing up to receive our Madison PTSA Weekly Newsletter.

We also recommend that you bookmark the MadisonPTSA.com website and follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

Of course, we encourage you to join the Madison PTSA! PTSA Members have a direct impact on PTSA planning and action.  In line with our commitment to equity, we are offering membership scholarships this year for those unable to afford membership fees.

If public education and social justice are a passion, consider joining the PTSA Board! We are seeking NEW PTSA Board Members!

The Madison PTSA has committed to providing $200 per educator for supplies that support EVERY classroom and EVERY department.  Please consider a donation to our annual Back to School Drive, on now through October 7thYour support ensures that teachers and departments have what they need to create an enriching and exciting space for learning.

Thank you for your support!

Yours Truly, Sarah Dillard, Madison 2021/2022, PTSA President email: president@madsionptsa.com
